General Members: What Do You Do?

All the associates on our four committees are members of Net Impact Berkeley, however, being an associate is not for everyone. Many individuals who wish to first learn more about the benefits Net Impact has to offer, or who are interested in CSR but not in any of the committee offerings become general members.

As a general member, you can attend all of our clubs events, including the training sessions and field trips offered by our other Committees, which are member-only. These events provide you with various skills in business (e.g., financial management, Excel, design). In addition, at our networking events, general members also can make the connections needed to excel as alumni. Finally, as a general member, you can access all the services offered by the international Net Impact organization, including Issues In Depth calls with professionals on topics related to CSR, the annual Net Impact Conference, the CLUE newsletter, job postings, and an expansive member database.

Why Become a General Member?

  • Build your skills through training sessions and field trips in Consulting, Marketing, Finance, and more
  • Interact with peers interested in CSR
  • Network with Net Impact’s vast network of professionals and alumni
  • Access Net Impact’s various resources including job postings, conference calls, and member database
  • Learn more about CSR in action

Who Should Join?

All students are encouraged to become general members of Net Impact. Business is not a distinct field, but an activity that permeates any industry. Responsible business, then, should also be promoted by anyone with a passion for CSR and making a positive impact. Students should also apply if they are interested in meeting and networking with professionals, alumni, and graduate students who are working in CSR programs and practices at major corporations. Finally, students should apply if they seek additional skills in consulting, marketing, and finance.
